I Want Obama to Fail

Posted By on June 9, 2009

A story1 from the Associated Press left me astounded … and gave me hope. The story is about Obama’s announcement of his ‘new’ stimulus plan.

Obama promised Monday to ramp up spending from the $787 billion stimulus fund and create or save 600,000 jobs by the end of the summer. It was an effort to shift the focus away from persistently rising unemployment and beat back criticism that the money isn’t flowing quickly enough.

The Associated Press then follows with this statement, “Those promises aren’t
new.”

The article also mentions degrading support in the general public for his policies (apparently there are more people out here that hope he fails to get his policy agenda passed).

Obama faces souring public opinion over his handling of the economy, …

The coup de grace is this line:

And for the first time, the administration admitted the economic forecasts it used to sell the stimulus were overly optimistic.

Is it just me, or does it seem wrong that the administration should have to ‘sell’ anything? If their ideas are so great they won’t need to be sold. If they need to be sold, then they clearly wouldn’t stand on their own merit and should perhaps not be implemented in the first place.

So yes, I do want Obama to fail to implement his plans and agenda.
