Yes, He is That Good

I read something this morning that truly tickled me … almost to the point of laughing out loud. At the time I said to myself, “Now that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all day! Well, except for that guy I heard on XM Radio’s Laugh USA channel and that comment I made earlier this morning, and something my daughter said to me while getting ready for school. But other than that, this is right up there.”
So what was so funny? Our friend Blago, Illinois Governor Blagojevich, claimed that the only reason he’s being impeached is because Illinois lawmakers want to stop him from blocking tax increases.
That’s good and I’m impressed by his ability to take easily anticipated steps necessary to shore up a weakening state balance sheet and turn it into a total populist appeal and attempt to turn the tide of public opinion against his accusors. He’s just shockingly good at this stuff. It’s no wonder he has twice run a successful campaign for governor.
Hold on tight, this is clearly going to be a trial played out as much in the court of public opinion as a court of law.

Though I am a software engineer by day, I read a great deal about current events, history, and economics and philosophy. I'm certain that many of my former teachers will be pleasantly surprised to hear this. I've grown very interested in trying to help educate others about the liberty guaranteed to us in the United States Constitution and the economic theories on which this Country was founded.
