Obama Thinks You’re Stupid

President Obama is a politician. Politicians lie. Obama gave a big speech last night that was broadcast to the nation. Therefore Obama lied1. That’s a stone pig.
But that’s not the point. The question is, are you insulted? It’s not a reflection on him that he lied; we’ve already established that he’s a politician and therefore by his very nature he lies almost all the time. We don’t have to accept that in our politicians, but we do, so even though it does reflect on their ethics and morality, it’s still part of our reality. What I’m questioning is your ethics and morality. Are you insulted when someone thinks so little of your intelligence that they will tell you bald faced lies because they know you will either take them at face value and believe them, or at the very least will not hold them to a higher standard? Are the politicians right? Are we, as a society, that stupid?
It is incumbent upon each of us, if we are to claim our birthright as responsible members of society, to examine our own actions and to take appropriate actions.

Though I am a software engineer by day, I read a great deal about current events, history, and economics and philosophy. I'm certain that many of my former teachers will be pleasantly surprised to hear this. I've grown very interested in trying to help educate others about the liberty guaranteed to us in the United States Constitution and the economic theories on which this Country was founded.
