More Bad Medicine

| April 26, 2009

I’m struck by how many examples there are of sub-standard quality in government-provided health care, and how widely held the belief is that government health care is a step down from free market health care, yet there is such a push by Progressives, Liberals, and Democratic politicians to have the United States Federal Government take over that industry. Is there anyone that truly thinks that will not decrease the quality of the care delivered?

Just the Facts, Ma’am

| March 14, 2009

I heard Mike Malloy, a liberal talk radio host, the other night make the claim that 1 in 9 homes in America are now sitting empty due to foreclosures. That’s patently false, but the figure was used repeatedly and was the basis for all his following arguments in support of the economic plans and policies of his champion: B. Obama.

How and When Did the Rich Get Richer?

| March 14, 2009

Conclusion: raising taxes does more to hurt the middle class than cutting taxes does to help the wealthy.

And THAT is how the rich got richer.

Government Health Care Would Be a Disaster

| February 7, 2009

Even though Lloyds of London has insured Jennifer Lopez’s derriere, they don’t expect to hear from her after every meal she eats or after every workout she misses. They only expect to write a large check if an unfortunate incident involving a large truck and the back seat of her car leave fitting into her size 4 jeans a distant memory.

The Secret of Our Success

| February 1, 2009

So here we find ourselves in the America of 2009 and in the midst of what we’re told is perhaps the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression (or since 1982, or the early ’70’s, or …) and many people are wondering what to do. The answer is really very clear, and very simple: produce more things that the rest of the world wants.

The Argument for a Smaller Government

| January 7, 2009

I’m saying that liberals ARE anti-American in that America stands for liberty and free markets (at least that’s how we were founded) and liberals are very much against that. They really desire slavery, which, by definition, is the forced labor of one person for the benefit of someone else.

It’s Not Your Job to Lose

| January 2, 2009

One thing that troubles me is the apparent underlying assumption that he seems to be making. That is that a ‘job’ is something to which we have some sort of right. As someone who has employed people in the past, and hopes to employ people in the future, I have found there is often a great deal of confusion about ‘ownership’ of a job.

Housing Doesn’t Need Fixing

| November 13, 2008

It seems to me that housing would very quickly fix itself if the market were just allowed to take its natural course: homeowners default on mortgages, get foreclosed, banks sell asset at a loss to investors, who turn around and rent the house (possibly even back to the original resident).

Obama is a Socialist

| October 31, 2008

One of the popular solutions often put forth on how to ‘fix’ health care in the US is this one: if you’re required to have car insurance, why not health insurance?

Oh The Wishy Washy Middle

| October 20, 2008

I don’t think you really grasp the concept of political parties and the American election process very well. If you’re not a member of a particular party, why should you be involved in helping to nominate their candidate?
