I contend that today’s liberal and progressives, due to the general dearth of their critical thinking skills, are actually quite blind to the reality around them. Instead, they are guided by baseless feelings of self-guilt through a world of political correctness which they are building that is 180 degrees out of phase with the realities of the human condition.

Will we not learn the lessons that history is teaching us and finally, once and for all, bury socialist philosophies in a cold grave?

Throughout human history, people have argued about how a society should be run. At one end of the spectrum is a strong central authority (king, lord, dictator, etc.) that essentially enslaves its people. Some of those people may well be very happy to be so enslaved while others will resent the lack of freedoms. I call this end of the spectrum "tyranny." The other end of the spectrum is no authority AKA anarchy. At this end, violence quickly ensues as people fight over life sustaining resources with the eventual result being a strong central authority that rules by force and threat of violence. This too is tyranny since it will lead directly to tyranny.

Where some will disagree, is where the line in the sand is that marks the limit of where we think the federal government has authority to go as so granted by the Constitution. This disagreement is fine and we can argument like gentlemen about it all day long.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan acknowledged that some prepared guidance for school officials included a suggestion that students could compose essays stating how they could help support Obama and his causes – an idea the he acknowledged was wrongheaded. The logical conclusion is that in the absence of the protests from vigilant government watchdogs, these “wrongheaded” suggestions would have gone through.

It’s because of this type of evidence that I firmly believe that liberalism and progressivism is inherently condescending and elitist.

I’m struck by how many examples there are of sub-standard quality in government-provided health care, and how widely held the belief is that government health care is a step down from free market health care, yet there is such a push by Progressives, Liberals, and Democratic politicians to have the United States Federal Government take over that industry. Is there anyone that truly thinks that will not decrease the quality of the care delivered?

I heard Mike Malloy, a liberal talk radio host, the other night make the claim that 1 in 9 homes in America are now sitting empty due to foreclosures. That’s patently false, but the figure was used repeatedly and was the basis for all his following arguments in support of the economic plans and policies of his champion: B. Obama.

Conclusion: raising taxes does more to hurt the middle class than cutting taxes does to help the wealthy.
And THAT is how the rich got richer.
